Situated in Carrer de Lleida, at the foot of Montjuïc Mountain, the Mercat de les Flors is a few metres from the house of the singer-songwriter Joan Manel Serrat.

It was inaugurated in the year 1929, with the name Palau de l´Agricultura. After the Civil War it was demolished and transformed into a flower market, hence its name.

José Miguel Casanovas and Antonio Fontela were responsible for restoring it in 1985.

It is currently the scene of the best national and international theatre companies.
