Restored
to be the Olympic Stadium in 1992, in actual fact the Olympic
Stadium was built for the 1929
Fair, designed by Pere Domènech i Roura.
In
the year of its construction, it was the second biggest stadium
in the world after Wembley, with a surface area of 66,000 m2.
The
façade of the Olympic Stadium is covered with ornaments of a classicist
style and has a tower like a beacon.
Restored
for the 1992 Olympic Games, it currently has a capacity for 55,000
spectators and is home to the matches of the Barcelona Dragons (American
football team) and RCD Espanyol from the 1st Division of the Spanish
soccer league.
