Barcelona,
besides art, traffic, people… counts with delicious public gardens.
Most
of them originally were country estates, which are located in the
Northeast part of the city. They are full of sculptures, fountains
and other details that are authentic hidden treasures. They are
unique landscape creations where nature, art, history have been
put together by architects and urban designers such as Forestier
or Rubió, significant characters in the modern history of gardening.
This
route invites us to enjoy these pieces of art, once private country
estates that now are a part of our public patrimony.
Here
are some of the highlights of the itinerary: "Jardins
de la Tamarita"; "Jardins de
la Villa Cecilia" and "de la Quinta
Amelia"; "Porta del Drac"
in the pabellons Güell; "Torre Girona"
and "Jardins del Palau de Pedralbes".
